and literarily, the 15m x 15m (50ft x 50ft) fully fenced in pool, beach, and island represent the Pacific Ocean - the “Polynesian Pool”. The Swimmer

There's the shady roofed “chicky”, for lounging, sipping or supping, "Mac’s Place", where you can enjoy the Charente-Maritime sunset.

 

Wooden decked “Wildcat Island”, under the palm tree, is now accessed by a single span bridge - unless, of course, you're one of our resident cats. Naming of an island - Maritime Cat

 

For those who feel a need for more exercise than 30 metre laps in the pool's deep end, or round and round the island, there are the humble pleasures of adjacent "Monk’s Walk" which follows the stone wall enclosing the grounds of Maison Borges.
